Code Club 4 Corporates

Meet social responsibility goals, develop leadership skills and create stronger teams with Code Club Aotearoa

"Code Club Aotearoa is truly special. We work with coding charities around the world, but none have sparked an interest in our employees, supported their leadership growth, or been as strong of a partner as Code Club Aotearoa" – Mark Moravits, Verizon Connect

Code Club Aotearoa supports organisations to up-skill staff and meet their corporate responsibility goals through our volunteer-based coding initiative. We’re looking for long term partnerships where engagements are either during or after school time and for at least one hour a week.

We provide a platform for organisations to connect with existing code clubs, potential code clubs and keen teachers. Our friendly staff also support corporate volunteers in planning and organising a club if they choose to host and volunteer in house.

Costs are broken down based on staff numbers. For more information get in touch!

Volunteering with your colleagues

Code Club will put you in touch with a school or community venue and provide you with everything you need to get started.

  • As a volunteer you will commit to at least 1 hour a week, during or after school hours
  • Support up to 20 young people working through Code Club projects
  • A club host will always be at the venue to help

Most clubs have students work through the Code Club Projects. These range from Scratch: Module 1, to website design using HTML/CSS and text based languages like Python. When accessible, many of our clubs use Micro:bits, 3D printers and Raspberry Pi’s.

If you're unfamiliar with any of these technologies we recommend trying one of the projects yourself!

Hosting a club

Hosting a Code Club at your place of work is a fun and engaging way to give back to your community; students are exposed to the tech work environment and you’re already at the venue, it’s a win for everyone!

As club hosts you will need to:

  • Provide adequate space, reliable wifi and devices for children unable to bring their own
  • Commit for a minimum of 10 weeks or one school term
  • Give 1 hour a week, during or after school hours
  • Support up to 20 young people working through Code Club projects

Organisations often work with a roster, enabling team members to take turns and volunteer once a fortnight, or once a month depending on the amount of people available.
