Introduction to Scratch
This project familiarises you with basic programming concepts using the block based language Scratch.
Māori Chatbot Project
An ideal project for Māori language week, this project provides beginners level introduction to programming in Scratch, giving users the chance to create their own bilingual chatbots.
Matariki Project
This bilingual project encourages users to use local stories to create an interactive Matariki scene. Aimed at beginner programmers, the project explores some digital design topics.
Flora and Fauna Project
This project provides an introduction to programming using Scratch, and ideas and resources for teaching computational thinking off and online. Aimed at complete beginners, it uses native plants and animals to introduce programming concepts.
Digital Gardening Project
This project explores issues faced in local agriculture, and how they can be addressed with digital technologies. The project includes digital design, agile working, and post-beginners programming.
Past, Present & Future Project
By looking at how technology has changed over time, this project asks users to think about where it might go. Over four topics, users will look at data sovereignty and security, problems with translations, and how we might communicate with extraterrestrials.
Numeracy & Geometry
This project provides a platform for learners to understand polygons and how to use simple coding blocks to draw 2D shapes. Aimed at beginner level programmers, the project uses shapes to introduce programming as well as an introduction into microbits.
Digital Storytelling
Digital storytelling is a powerful tool to retell your favourite stories and even share some of our most treasured memories. Through this project you will create an interactive story using simple code and develop a process that can be used and integrated in the classroom.
Sustainability
This project focuses on designing a water management system in Scratch to measure water use throughout a week.
Pepeha
This project is an introductory lesson to programming where you will use Scratch to create your pepeha.
